Lionel NH Gondola ?
Posted by traindaddy1 on Saturday, June 23, 2007 8:13 AM

Lionel has a New Haven PS-5 Standard 'O' gondola. (6-17472) I am "lost" in an 'O27' world.

Would you know if Lionel ever made an 'O27' New Haven gondola.  (Lionel Tech could not answer the question.........Should have known better than to ask them!)

As always, thanks.

Frank53: Thanks. Guess I'll stick with the box cars.

PS.  If you had to choose between the two NH tankers (26177 or 26167) which one would you go with?  (Personally, I like the all black 26167)  Thanks again.

The O27 gondola cars  are a dime a dozen. It might be a fun repaint prodject.

Great idea! Thumbs Up [tup]  BUT, if you ever saw what this "older" guy does when he gets his hands on a paint brush, you would never call it "fun" (especially the clean-up).   Have been advised....no warned...not to try any "paint" projects within eyesight of the 'chief engineer' Laugh [(-D]

If anyone were interested in the ATLAS O Industrial Rail Line they could wait until Autumn and get the O Gauge New Haven Gondola in the Pennsylvania Train Set.

This is Set Artwork on the Industrial Rail Web Page.

This New Haven Gondola might be what you need.

The Industrial Rail O27 Gondola is part of a set, but this set will match the time period of most of the rest of the layout. It is aimed towards the Post-War Lionel operators. If you only need the New Haven Gondola, you could try trading and bartering parts of the set for something more appropriate. Perhaps some retailer will offer a set break-up.

I would think that Atlas would offer these as single cars when they start to produce them.  They even list a catalog number for it in the set contents section.
