Frank, I know what you are saying from working on my one time website years ago back in my artist days.

But very professional and good job. Absolutely first rate.

Times change, but I agree that tubular track is everybit as good as anything else considering the price. But now YOUR time is going to get more divided between working on the website and working on the railroad.

Frank, kind of an odd question, but do you know how much ballast you used on your layout, or so far in it?  And, I really like your train roster, especially the explanations on them, do you know when you will be finished with all of them? Big Smile [:D]

Thanks,

Grayson

A lot. I am getting about 24 or so feet of track to a bag of ballast and I am using really good and somewhat expensive ballast. Ballasting tubular track takes a lot of ballast as you want to bring the ballast up to AT LEAST the bottom of the rails. Tubular track sits high, therefore more ballast.

I am however, very pleased with the result. Over the course of the entire layout, I expect I will probably spend an extra $100-150 for great ballast as compared to kitty litter or some other product. Since the track is a focal point, I consider this a worthy investment.

I expect not more than a week or two and I should have all of the pages in "The Trains" section complete. The balance of the site will be complete when I finish my layout. I am hoping they are somewhat concurrent events, as I would welcome the opportunity to park my butt in the train room and watch these old classics go round and round while I enjoy a cop o' joe and a Kool, although by that point, I may have taken up pipe smoking.

Frank, are using 50 pound bags of ballast or something!!!!??? LOL!!!!   24 feet on a bag of ballast? I can barley ballast 2 sections of 027 with a 18 cu. inch. bag, guess I need to get a bigger bag.

Yes, I like the locomotives in the "Trains" section. Any idea of adding tmcc convention control to the layout? Big Smile [:D] Wink [;)] Wink [;)] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] Big Smile [:D] Laugh [(-D]

No, I lived just outside Perth Amboy until I was 28, moved here (Florida) in 1981.
