Looking for a Williams Loco

I'm looking for the Williams semi-scale GG-1 in the PRR black 5 stripe paint scheme, engine number 4935, item number GG-3002. Williams, Justrains, and Ma and Pa Junction are out of stock.

Are there any other dealers anyone would recommend checking with?

 The dealers listed have the GG-1's on sale at $175 (just out of stock on the one I want). I'm much more interested in that price range than the $249 list price.

 I'm looking for the 4935 in particular as it is the one on display at the PA RR Museum.

I've heard it is going to be coming back into stock in a few months, so I've got one backordered now with Ma and Pa Junction.

You might try Charles Philips at 717-564-8633.  He is a big Williams dealer who attends a lot of the shows in the East.

You may want to give Bill and Jean Hollash a call.  They have a web site if you google Hollash's trains, they are in North Florida and are good folks to deal with.  I know they often have a lot of Williams items on auction as well as having them at train shows, etc.

PS: while I don't have a copy right here, if you look in the back of OGR, someone has a small add advertising the "Best Prices on Williams in the country", not sure as I have never done business with him.

If you are looking for a brand new Williams you may have to wait a while as it seems that Williams is also taking orders for stuff just like Lionel & MTH.

I tried to order some stuff from the Williams catalog that was just sent to me and was told that some of the items are out of stock, I ordered two days after getting the catalog so I think it is more like companies are taking orders or the catalogs should be looked at as "Wish the companies made these things!"

Philly, Williams seems to replenish certain items throughout the year. Sometimes their stock does run out. for instance, if you want a State of Maine car, order that in the spring, because it will sell out fast. Same goes for the Hudsons and Berks, and I would assume, the 2343s. All the icon trains sell out fast, then there is a lag until the next shipment comes in. It keeps the overhead low for Williams by not sitting on a lot of merchandise.

Agree with Jim.  Another car that sells out fast is the Great Northern.

Jaabat, I am trying to purchase an extra set of motors for an F-7 diesel locomotiveand a Pennsy S-2 tender with whistle from the new Williams catalog that just came in the mail about three to four weeks ago.  Seems to me that Williams should have this stuff in stock!!   I am not trying to order a high demand item or so I think.

Also from what you are saying I take it that Williams only makes a limited quantity and takes orders to see if they need to do another run.  Back in the 1970's and 80's if you put an item in a catalog you better have that item in stock, not so today!!   Also keeps profits low by not having items on hand to supply the demand!
