Lionel PW Celebration Minuteman Cannon Car
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, June 9, 2007 4:57 PM

This is probably old hat for most on here, but my son convinced me to purchase one of these today from the good folks at Todd's Trains in Wendell (the best train shop in the Raleigh area) and I have to say, this thing rocks.

This is the first military item to join my railroad fleet, and it's simply way cool loading that cannon up with three (presumed) nuclear artillery shells, hooking the car up to my US Navy BEEP (the color matches, though not the service) and delivering a triple dose of good ol' all-American postwar optimism and energy on whatever godless Commies may be approaching my little corner of Arcadia.

The car roof opening and the cannon s-l-o-w-l-y emerging from the opened roof strikes the perfect note of cold war menace.

If you don't have this car I cannot recommend it highly enough.Smile [:)]

I have an original postwar minuteman car and agree with your comments 100%!  It never fails to generate comments from visitors.  All you need now is a Lionel exploding boxcar for target practice.

Sounds good. To really have fun you need to get the 6470. Either the PWC or the one from the '60s is good!

Getting the exploding boxcar is a grand idea. Would be nice to see actual effects from the rain of trouble emerging from the cannon car.
