1087 box What was in it?
Posted by alcofanschdy on Thursday, May 24, 2007 6:59 PM

Somehow I have in my possesion a Lionel box that says on the side 1087 for 027 track.  Can anyone here tell me what was in the box originally?  I've looked on line and in guides and come up with nothing.  Anyone know?  Thanks in advance

Your having fun with us?  My Guide lists 1087 as "Midnight Express" 1970, Never Made.

No the box is real.  I got the box from my LHS years ago.  He gave it to me to carry some rolling stock I bought home.  I asked him about it but he didn't know anything about it.  Its small only about 12inches by 12 inches.  Its the usual brown with an orange Lionel label.  Maybe its an uncataloged something from Sears or some other company?
