Lionel Hobby Store

HI GIZ,

I was looking through my 2000 Lionel catalog and saw the Lionel Hobby store in it.  Was wondering if anyone has it?  And were there any hickups on this product?  Saw one on the bay for about $200.  Is it worth that much?

Haven't heard of anyone ever having a problem with one.

Neat accessory. Nicely detailed, three operating layouts, flashing lights.

I was pretty impressed with it when we had one here for review.

It was fun watching all the train layouts spin around, but I was concerned about how long they would hold up with a significant amount of use. Of course, for best effect, you'd need to have the roof off to see most of the action.

The only immediate questionmarks for me were the footprint (it takes up a lot of space), and the appearance (very nice, but most of my buildings are ceramic, so there would be a clash of styles.

Now, the Lionel atomic reactor would have fit right in ...

Laz,

These are very nice. I just fixed a wire on one for a friend of mine.

$200 is a good price. This is a popular unit and can go for quite a bit more.

This would look good on your layout on the street where you have the nice median down the middle.

Regards, Roy
