I just had a Lionel prewar 253 locomotive restored by Ray Sorensen and felt I had to share the results.  I found the original engine at a garage sale for $20!  The shell had been poorly repainted and missing several brass accessories, but the engine ran strong and the original spoked wheels were sound.  Some of the original dark green paint was still visible on the interior, so I asked Ray to match the original dark green color and brass inserts.  I feel he did a marvelous job.
