Frank, he doesn't post on weekends unless he goes to the libaray.  We all know who I am talking about.  Has them hidden in the closet as he has young kids.

That's just a classic case of a guy just unwilling to buy at the price offered, no matter how reasonable. I guess he just couldn't bring himself to buy them unless he finagled something off the asking price. Forget the fact that the asking price was about half of what he could reasonably expect to pay for these . . .

not to get any deeper in this shirtless man discussion - but what type of signals are you using on your layout. They seem to fit in well, and I am looking for what I will use throughout all levels. I want them to be consistent and reasonable in size.

MTH signals are what I use, they are a nice size, great detail and fairly easy to hook up the electronics.

I'm sitting in my home office looking around - one main workstation with three 22" flat panels, one Sony Vaio for email and internet with Windows Media Center, cable plugged right in for watching tv while I work, and dvd.

 A second work station with two 119" monitors and a print server running Enterprise Server.

Four computers, seven monitors, five printers and various gadgetry.

Plus two other computers in the house for family use and two more in teh garage that work great but just have slower processors.

Maybe Jim would like to trade my that 736 he stole out from under me.

the signal light I power using a full wave bridge rectifier for DC and a relay which gets it's AC signal from an isolated rail

 

 

the crossbuck is real simple, just use the isolated rail to turn on and off and use power from a KW transformer as shown

Here is an easy way to operate a two-aspect incandescent signal from an isolated control rail:

Connect the signal's red terminal to the accessory voltage.  Connect the signal's green terminal to transformer common (outside rails).  Connect the signal's common to the control rail.  Connect another incandescent lamp between the signal's common and the accessory voltage.  That lamp should be rated for the accessory voltage and be large enough to keep the red signal off when there is no train present.  It will light along with the red signal and can be covered if its light is objectionable.
