Lionel GP7 GP9 need a better fuel tank

One thing I really don't like about my Lionel GP9s is the fuel tank. Its just too small and doesn't go down low enough. I have searched for Atlas GP9 fuel tanks  with no luck. Maybe MTH or Williams has a better one I could modify  to fit my Lionel?

Are you speaking of postwar/MPC geeps or the more modern releases? And if it is the latter, postwar style or scale style? I believe the more recent postwar style geeps have a larger fuel tank than the postwar/mpc offerings. I could be wrong. I hope this answers your question.

81 GP9 and a couple of GP7s from 80s or 90s.

That's kind of what I was thinking. You could probably find a fuel tank to a newer Lionel or Williams and fit it on. You really don't have to make it so it is eassily removable as there is no battery to put in or take out.
