We recently cleaned out some of my grandfathers items and found this. It is still in it's box. It is a tin toy train that runs on a rubber cable. There are a number of patent #'s on the box but I can not find a date. Has anyone seen a toy train like this before?

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] natedog,

Does the box have a name on it like Ives or Marx or Lionel? Is it a set made for Sears or J.C. Penny?  Would you happen to know what size track it runs on, two or three rail, or is it a monorail(one that runs in the air).

To have other people help you find out more about this train it is helpful to supply as much information that you can.

Thanks for the response. I did find it on ebay. It is a 1950's Japan boxed battery operated 6" tin 2 pc elec cable tin train. If you would like to look on ebay the item # is 150107244641. If you do look it up do you know anything else about it?
