Hob-E-Tac Adhesive
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, November 24, 2003 6:38 PM
In the past several years I have been very dependant on the Hob-e-Tac adhesive from Woodland Scenic to place my landscaping, people, etc on my layout. For some unknown reason they have changed the formula to a product that does not dry fast, and dries white rather than transparent.
Has anyone got any suggestions for an alternate?

Go to your local craft store or Walmart and get a tub of "tacky" glue. It looks like a thick elmers glue. Its white going on but dries clear. I use it to build the Woodland scenic tree kits with great success.

The old formula, which I have used, was just about identical to contact cement, used for laminating Formica counter tops etc. It can be bought at just about any hardware or building supply in small tubes up to gallon sizes. The price is a fraction of the cost of the old rebottled Woodland Scenic's stuff, which was identical.

Thanks for this info! Saves me from learning a hard lesson with the Woodland Scenics product!
