bunk car

I just purchased a Lionel Union Pacific Bunk  6-19687. I like the colors of the car and the fact that it also smokes. I would like to know where in the line of cars does the bunk car usually go, behind the tender or in front of the caboose? Thanks.

Well, I worked on a wreck train years ago & we had the steam wrecker out first, followed by an idler car for the boom to straddle over & water. Then you would have a few gons with track panels in them in case you had to build track to get to the cars derailed, then you would have a tool car followed by a diner car & then a bunk car, which in our case was an old coach & so was the diner car, then probably the engine. I think it depended on the RR at the time, as we didn't have a caboose, that was PennCentral, though !

Thanks, John
