Looking for a Polar Express tender only

Well, I figured out what I'm going to do with my set (for now at least).  I can't very well run the Polar Express all year long, and besides it might look strange hauling a consist of frieght, soooo, I'm going to purchase the tender that goes with the Pole Ex. and I'm going to apply "Pere Marquette" decals to the tender, and since the Polar Express and the Pere Marquette used the #1225 on the engine I will be able to run an historic train with freight throughout the year and during the festive season break out the Pole Ex.  Yea Me!!  LOL

So, there is currently one on ebay, but if anyone knows were I might be able to purchase on of these tenders only, please let me know.

Why don't you just buy a reproduction post war tender shell and letter it up? Olsen's sells them for under $25. Then you can simply swap the shells.

I strongly recommend a rail sound or train sound tender.  The sounds are a fun addition.

I would love to have a railsounds tender, I'm sure that would be a nice compliment, but alas I fall victim to the dreaded budget.    My budget likes the idea of a shell, but want to NOT screw something up thinks that a whole new tender is the way to go.  We'll see who wins this battle.

There are tenders out there.  If you can live without having to have a PE version or a Railsounds version, you should be able to find a like piece dirt cheap, maybe even with an air whistle.  A bit of paint and some decals will take care of the roadname.

ATSJer... I have an old PostWar tender, the shell is cracked, but the air whistle still works... it came with a 2020 S-2 Turbine... I purchased a replacement for it a few years ago... if you are interested email me at the link below...

Well, you could do that. Or, you might want to take a look at the CTT classified ads. There's a fellow who sells postwar tenders, orginal or refurbished, that are just perfect. You could even ask him if he could letter the one you want for the PM for you.

I never liked the tender that the PE comes with because it couples to far from the engine than I would like.

If you do get a Postwar tender, get the 2426W, which came with the pre-1950 726 Berkshire and is a large tender, which is closer than most non-scale sized tender to the real 1225's tender.

If you want the number and info, I can get it for you, or just take a look in the CTT classified ads and the add is there.

I have a spare Polar Express tender I would be willing to part with.  I bought an extra Polar Express set for the locomotive, and purchased a Pennsylvania Trainsounds tender to add some more sound to the layout so I don't use the PE tender.  If you are interested let me know and we can work something out.
