M.T.H. Premier line 4-4-0 steamers

According to the M.T.H. website you can order these locos with either scale or hi-rail wheels.  What is the difference?  Will the scale wheels work on Fastrack?  Does anyone know if these engines come with cruise?  Thanks.

It means that you can flip a switch & change wheelsets to work on the O-scale 2 rail track systems, like HO . A nice feature, I would think ! Oh, & I think you remove the pick-up roller also for 2 rail .

Thanks, John

The 2 rail has smaller flanges but will work on 3 rail. It does require a larger operating radius (042). The Hi-rail will operate on either but does have larger flanges than the scale 2 rail and will operate on 031 radius track.

As John as pointed out, on either engine will run on either AC or DC with just a flip of a switch and removing or adding the center rail pickups.

And yes all PS2 engines has speed control. It really works great under DCS control. It is limited to the voltage of the track in conventional mode.
