Thanks Marty,

Nice pics. I love the look of this set.Smile [:)]

I am still on the fence as these have no traction tires, and I use Realtrax. There may be some wheel spinning because Realtrax rails are non-ferrous.

Does anyone use these on Realtrax, and if  so, do you notice the units spinning out when pulling a passenger set?

NICE MARTY.

What do you pull with it?  Passenger or freight?

It has been PWC freight but I think I'd like to hook it up with a passenger consist. Just haven't got around to getting some.

MARTY,

I think that is my next purchase, NYC F3s either MTH or Lionel?  Still debating on this one?  Would like the Lionels but the MTHs have smoke.  But I would like to pull a passenger set.  Thanks,

I am running the same set, less the B unit, on Atlas track which is also non ferous.  I have a built in 3% grade on O45 corners.  No slippage what so ever - they are smooth performers. I have run 5 - 8 modern freight cars as well as 3 of the 027 streamliner cars.

I think the dual motors make all the difference - I have the NYC GP9 with a single Pullmor and it will slip with a similar consist if the track is a little dirty.

This truly is a fine loco set.

Laz, you may also want to check into the K-Line F units that are out there.  I have seen several on Ebay and I believe CHOOCHOO has one set now.  They are nice looking and if the K-Line ones are like the Lackawanna set I got, it is a real winner.  Smoke, TMCC, traction tires and 6 motors in the ABA set.  These also have very nice detail.

Thanks DENNIS,  saw the Lackawanna set on ebay for $699.  But still want the NYC livery.

K-lines do run good though.  I have the gg1 with TMCC and that just goes and goes and goes doesn't even have much heat build up like the Lionel.

This puppy with it's dual Pullmor does draw some juice,  The cab lights dim when pulling out.  Once it's going though it's fine.  Love the growl of the pullmors.  Does Williams make these.  They could be a canidate for ERR cruise commander.  I'm looking into that for a SF F3 set or FM Trainmaster that I'll but at York from Marty of Ma and Pa Jct.

Marty, can ERR boards stand all that "pull" you mentioned?  Some "mini" boards can not take it.  Find out for us.
