Replacement original turbine motor does not work!!!

Replacement original turbine motor does not work!!!

I have an original 2020 or 671 turbine motor that i keep as a spare...i went to swap motor in my 671 and the replacement original did not work!..what might be wrong...the wiring is correct...E-Unit works fine just a humming sound...the motor just wont kick over and turn...i put new brushes and spring in it and cleaned the surface of amature...what else can be done? it turns freely...thanks

 Hello Lionel!    Sounds like a bad connection or a open in one of your wires. Try another Motor that you know works & see what it will do. If it runs, your wires are fine. If not. then, there is a bad connection or a problem with the motor itself( although rare) The other thing you can do is connect the motor directly to the transformer using leads to see if it will run. Connect a lead to one of the Brushes & another to ground. Then use a wire from the top of the Brushplate where the Field is soldered to & run a wire from there to the second Brush connection & see if the motor runs.
