Does anyone know if there is a way to distinguish an original cover (50-70) for a 50 gang car from a repro? On the two gang cars I have, the covers are a brighter orange than the brushplate. Both covers have the circle L logo. Here are some pictures:
It is true that most times the cover is darker or less brigh orange. I believe this is because it's a different material. The brushplate is made from nylon.
Your cars appear original based on the photos.

Keith and Mike,
I would like to thank both of you for your help. I always appreciate your input.
Jim,
I'm sorry I re-read my post and I mean to say the brushplate is usually darker or less bright orange. HOpe I wasn't too confusing.
Mike,
It wasn't at all confusing. Thanks again for all your help. Lately, I've been very interested in gang cars. I bought my first in 2005 (left in photos), bought the second one (right in photos) last week, and I am waiting on the third which I just bought this Tuesday.
