Hi Gang,
I am looking at a Lionel 6-30026 Set CP TMCC.Before I buy it, does anyone have this set.?? My question is , What size are the freight cars ?? Are they more like scale or traditional. I have several of the Lionmasters in steam, but no diesels.. As we all know size matters
Thanks...Tim
The ACF Center Flow Covered Hopper, the Double-Door Boxcar, the Three-Bay, Open-Top Hopper, and the Extended-Vision Caboose are O Scale sized cars first introduced in the 1980's and 1990's.
The Centerbeam Flat Car is practically S Scale in proportions.

I do not have this set but I recently bought the Norfolk Southern Black Diamond freight, which is about the same thing (except there is a tank car instead of a centerbeam). The locomotive is awesome. It is a "LionMaster", which means it is scaled down a little bit, but actually it is only 2 inches shorter than the scale version, so it fits in well with scale locomotives. The RailSounds are great, and the engine's smoke unit is amazing. All of the cars are Standard O scale, not O27. The set comes with a very generous oval of track with O48 curves and a CW-80 transformer. As it looks in the CP Rail set, all of the cars (except the centerbeam) are Canadian railroads.
I only have one problem with the sets is that these trains are equipped with RailSounds - not TrainSounds - so to access all of the advanced features like crew announcements and TowerCom you need to buy a TMCC remote and command base. But if you can live without crew announcements for a while, (like me, who doesn't have command) the engine works fine on a conventional layout, with horn, bell, and engine revving sounds. I think the new Legacy equipped engines can work completely on conventional layouts, like MTH's ProtoSound 2 can, but they are pricey. This set is a great buy for what you get. Though, I don't understand why they raised the price 30 dollars from the Norfolk Southern version...
Nice set for the money. The previous posts sum up the set.
However, in addition, the crew/tower dialogue is only one sentence for each.
Not missing much.
And, the caboose is semi-scale, all the other cars are scale.
Very good smoker, to my surprize.
