Any 2007 Wishes Yet?
Posted by Cheese on Saturday, December 30, 2006 5:50 PM

Wow,

Even though Lionel hasn't put out its catalog yet I'm felling good about this year. MTH Railking products are wonderfull and Lionel bought K-Line. Maybe Lionel will abuse the K-Line tolling and make some nice Scale engines, maybe the Santa Fe Berk with the Coffin Water heater or the K4.

I've already made a list of things I want. I'm still not sure if I should buy the MTH Royal Hudson or Berk. Heck, I might just forget a few other things and get both. Or I might just buy some cars and maybe an accesory and get the Big Boy passenger set in December.

I wish Lionel would make a Green Southern 4501 Mikado this year since they intorduced a Traditional line Mikado last year, mush to my delight and with Sound. (It might not be Railsounds but oh well)

I'd also like a Williams Lackawanna Grey Top trainmaster some Madisons for my steamers. That new B&O Fast Freight set I saw they are coming out with in 2007 might be a good end of School purchase. I mean, there should be an incentive or a reward for all the suffering kids do in school.

Oh, I almost forgot. I need to get some streamliners for my Santa Fe F3's to pull. Maybe some Santa Fe Freight Cars from the Gryziboski Set Breakups and the Bay Window Caboose from Trainworld.

My Goodness. This is telling me 3 things. I need to downsize my list, get a raise, or find a better paying job

Final List....... Undecided until the Lionl Catalog comes out. Then I'll get to work.

I'm in the mood for some pre-war American Flyer. Got my 3113 going under the Christmas tree this year and that has renewed my interest.

Wishing the shipment of TMCCII would hurry up.  It's announcement swayed me from going to DCS for my first command control system.  Not that I'll have any TMCCII motive power to run but it will be nice to finally operate my existing TMCCI locos in command mode.  The wish list will certainly grow from here once Lionel offers a TMCCII loco I can't live without

I already made a "wish list"for my wife, basically consisting of some more Christmas themed cars for my North Pole Central set. Thats going to end up being strictly for Christmas though, I havent decided on what else I might want to run year round. So much to choose from.

Hmm,

A recent CCT Justrains advertisement and a visit to their website has caused me to add another option to my list.

The C&O Streamlined Yellowbelly Hudson. Oh, and a nice set of Williams C&) Streamliners and add on pack for it as well.

A Layout is another option as well. Finally got a plan that I like and it should fit comfortably in my room after we remove some uneeded furniture such as the TV, Display Case, Video Case, and Second dresser.

I would keep the TV, but we just got a new one for the Living room which is considerably bigger than mine, so I usually watch TV in there. In fact, I haven't touched my TV in 3 months.

I have kicked out a couple of ideas, but I'm still working on it.

Hello All!   Bruce- Maybe Lionel will make the K-Line Superstreets with Postwar Celebration Corvairs & Drivertalk (instead of Crewtalk) "Uh-Oh, That Red Generator light is on again, need to pull over" "Where is the Fire Extinquisher?"  "On-Star, we have a problem with the Corvair again." Wink [;)]Tongue [:P]Clown [:o)] What Fun with the Corvair Celebration Series.Wink [;)]Big Smile [:D]Clown [:o)] Have a Happy New Year!

"Not interested in MTH, Williams or any other crap."

-----------------------

Ah, yes--the new breed of O gauge hobbyist, and the kind of mindset that often makes me wish we were still in 1947 rather than entering 2007. Whistling [:-^]

Fortunately, though, there are enough of the rest of us around who still like to buy a lot of the "other crap" that's being offered to the hobby. Tongue [:P]

My wish for 2007?  That the manufacturers would stop in their tracks (pun intended); devote some effort to evaluating where the market is and where it's going; and just catch up a bit by producing the stuff that they cataloged a long time ago, followed by establishing realistic and attainable production schedules for the future.

LMAO!!!

Kieth, this is the type of idea one can really run with.  Image the fun options with CC in Superstreets?  The " I need a ring job badly" super smoker function.  Using the boost and brake control for realistic " bumper to bumper" traffic simulation.  Then there's the multitude of cop chase senarios, P.I.T. maneuvers, and pulled over speeder drivertalk explaining to the cop, " No officer, I don't know how fast I was going cuz I only have TMCC".

There could be specific automobile make functions programmed to act like the real car.  Such as the "Flaming rearended Pinto" or the " Hot Box rear wheel bearing Corvair ".  Of course every underpass would just have to have a CC equiped " Vulture in the Tow Truck" accessory, a spinoff of Lionels new crane car....plus the matching " Pontiac Montana breakdown unit"

Then there's the Stupidstreets Series which would include the "Volvo doing 20MPH in the fast lane" ( or order the white Bronco with this option)....the " Tanya the tailgater scocer mom" and the ever popular "Sam I slam on my brakes for no reason" SUV.  The mind boggles! Wink [;)]

Bruce- LOLLaugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D] You sure thought up some very clever & funny ideas for Superstreets. Especially the Volvo doing 20 MPH in the fast lane & The Hot Box Rear Wheel Bearing for the Corvair!Wink [;)]Wink [;)]Tongue [:P]Clown [:o)] All Lionel has to do is make the above compatible with TMCC/Legacy & you're all set. Take Care & I hope you have a very Happy New Year!Smile [:)]

Lionel needs to make their k-line line atractive, their new k-line stuff is trash.

Here we go again. Threr's always a reason the Manufacture makes something. I don't think it's right to refer to it as trash when some of our friends here are looking forward to acquiring these pieces, or have just gotten one .

Yes, Allan....That was definitely a quote by someone who doesn't know very much about anything. And admits it.
