SignalSounds vs. RailSounds

I noticed someone just gave a nice explanation of LocoSounds vs. PS2 for MTH. Could someone do the same for Lionel signalsounds vs. railsounds? My particular interest is how much difference there is if you don't have TMCC (it's on my wish list). Does signalsounds provide the basic engine sounds?[?]

SingalSounds just gives you a horn/whistle and bell. Railsounds gives you a full range of locomotive noises as well as crew and tower conversation.

OH All-mighty Overlord, Do you need TMCC to hear Railsounds or can they operated under convetional control?

Hi mrd4747,

In conventional control you can still get the bell, whistle/horn, chuf and random sounds (you also need to install the battery to support the sound when track voltage drops below about 8 volts. Additional sounds such as Tower Com, break squealing, need TMCC to operate.
