Run, Stop, Reverse, Run, Stop and Repeat ?
Posted by traindaddy1 on Monday, December 4, 2006 8:03 PM

Hi! Please help this "older"guy remember. Last year, I recall asking this question but I can't find my notes.

While passing through a small southern town, I saw a layout in a widow display. The store had already closed and I was on a tight schedule which did not afford me the opportunity to revisit the next day.

They had a Lionel train running on a long "U"-shaped track. Just before the train got to the end of the line, it stopped, waited a few seconds and proceeded in the opposite direction.  At the other end, it did the same thing.  It was sort of like the traditional trolley but it definitely did not 'bump' before it reversed.

Question: Would you be able to refresh my memory as to what track attachment would have been employed?

As always, many thanks.
