I have a Lionel 626 that was my dad's and I was thinking of finding the rolling stock it came with. I want to suprise him and run it under the tree when the family comes down on Christmas eve. Does any one know what is the correct rolling stock for this set and does anyone have pictures to show the correct colors/variations of rolling stock?
I think this is the consist but I am unsure of the variation of each piece of rolling stock:
Set 9602?
626 - B&O center cab
6112 - gondola - what color?
6014 - Baby Ruth Box car - what color?
6560 - red crane?
6119-25- work caboose - what color?
IS THIS CORRECT?
Small unique set - my dad got this set and the set headed by the 250 Pennsey Steamer/TW transformer - he must have been a good kid!
I have this set-because my father received it for Christmas in 1957 and is still sitting on our layout!
Not a "desirable" set by any means but it is an extremely difficult set to locate. This particular set was ONLY sold at Sear's, is a uncataloged set and hard to find in any condition. There is a publication that has old Montgomery Wards and Sear's old copies of the postwar era train sales. This set is in there and starts with an X. I use to know the entire number but do not remember.
The set consisted of:
626 B & O 44T switcher
6112 Lionel BLACK gondola with 4 red cement containers (no other colors)
X6014 Red PRR Baby Ruth short box car
6560 red crane car
6119-25 orange work caboose
Came with a figure 8 027 track system and a 50W transformer (I believe a 1043)
FEC,
Send me an E-mail at jaugusls7@yahoo.com and I will send pictures of my dad's set.
