Rock Island The Rock GP-7 Correct Colors?
Posted by jchambless on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 12:07 PM
I want to repaint and  old Lionel GP-7  in  THE  ROCK  blue and  white.

Does anyone know any paint company  that makes the correct colors (Blue and White) and decals for this?

Thanks

Jerry

I usually by model car paint, then mix blue and white paint till I get the right or in the ball park shade of blue. As per the white, I just use regular with testors paint.

Lionel collector, stuck in an N scaler's modelling space.

Jerry, I'm presuming you want to paint this yourself. Search for Rock Island Bankruptcy Blue in Google Images  - the Rock Island Technical Society website is down - but you should be able to near-match that blue with your paint - here's some decal info: http://www.railgraphicsdecals.com/Rail_Graphics_Decals_Decal_MarketPlace.htm

There's a few vendors in the latest CTT.  I think Champ is still selling down its inventory: http://minot.com/~champ/
