Had occasion to watch the second season of the CBS series "Medium", now out on DVD.
The show is about a woman who sees events of the past in dreams and works for a District Attorney in pointing police in the right direction on unsolved crimes.
In this particular episode she dreams her car has broken down on a rural road and a plane crashes near her. After several nights of the same dream, she visits the scene and makes her way to a barn where an O-Gauge train layout is set up. If I remember correctly, the train highlighted is a Santa Fe F3. On the layout is a crashed plane, and a barn which is identical to the one she is in. Beneath the train layout is a trap door where a kidnapping victim is being hidden, who she finds when the layout starts shaking - for some unidentified reason.
Not for nothing, just some exposure of O-Gauge trains in the mainstream media.
I thought it was a Santa Fe PA: and that this looked more HO. Nice sky backdrop though. Overall, a nice conceit. Of course the owner of the layout is the perpertrator - another one of the model railroading loonies. I've watched this show only a few times and twice saw this episode...
Doug Murphy 'We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...' Henry V.
It never dawned on me that it could be HO. Coulda sworn I saw a third rail in there, plus I would think that in order to get the idea fully understodd, they would use larger trains. Guess I have to revisit this one.
Frank,
The trapdoor under the layout is where Bob Grubba is being held.

I have quite a long list of others I wouldn't mind seeing in there.
