Hey Y'all,
Ok, Ok, I knows its only October, but what they hey, I was bored and its never to early to wish about what you'll find under the tree either it be from you for you, or from someone else.
I'm thinking of treating myself to a Williams Tuscan 2360 Golden Memories GG1. The one with the five thin golden stripes. I might get the Brunswick Green, but that only if I can't get a Tuscan one.
Or maybe a nice set of Williams Budd Cars. I'm still bebating over Pennsy or B&O should I choose those. Then again, Gryziboski's has an MPC MS&TL Service Station set for a good price. Thats a nice pice that I've been looking for.
But, if those are out of reach, then I'd like to get the LTI Lionel Lackawanna 4-8-4 I saw in the recent Toy Train Heaven Advertisement for $200.
I always liked the Lackawanna, partly becuase one of my grandmother's friends worked for the Lackawanna, as did his dad.
So, enough about what I want, what do y'all desire this Holiday Season.
Loco10
Nick! :)
That's a Williams GG1
These are Williams also....Both GREAT.
If you are in the market for a Williams GG1, now is the time to buy it. Just recently they had all of the color options in stock, as did Ma & Pa. They seem to run out of some colors real guick.
I am thinking of a 5 stripe in the scale version, since I would want to convert it to TMCC. I have the short 5 strip but it is really to small for the electronics, at least I think so. Of course if I keep thinking about it to long they will be out of stock again.
I just checked the site and they are showing everything in stock except the short green versions.
Easy for me, first, the K-Line ABA F3 Lackawanna with dual engines in each piece. After that, I would like a semi scale Hudson in NYC livery.

I thought about TMCC II but decided to wait. I really would like to know what “new functions” I would see with current TMCC engines.
I am hoping for a Moe & Joe lumber car, a Poultry Dispatch Car, some NYC Earlybird rolling stock and an NYC bay side caboose to escort my new Century Club NYC F3s.
Dennis – which semi scale Hudson are you thinking about? I got a LionMaster J3 back in June and absolutely love it. She is a fine looking locomotive and a great runner.

I already bought my son the Lionel SW Diesel Freight Set from Santa, so I need some more FasTrack and a couple open freight cars (gondolas/hoppers) for him to put stuff in, I figure a 5-yr-old can run some nice industries - will a cereal bar fall out of a log dump car?

No it won't fall out, but I doubt it will stay there for long..
I don't really have big wishes related to trains, I just got myself a new protosound engine and that's as far as my wish list goes for the moment.. (but it's not december yet..)

So you've tried to dump other things out of log dump cars then? What works?
Luther, a J3 would be great, I am not too specific yet as I don't have any command system, all conventional.
I need a power supply, preferably the big Lionel one but I'd be happy with the MRC. I'd like a BEEP and a brace of PEEPS. Last but not least whatever is the best, most reliable trackside accessory be it a coal tipper, a log tipper, whatever. Its gotta stand up to hard work though. Thats the sensible wish list!
Unrealistic wishes include an MTH Blue Comet I was offered for $500 and that Lionel tinplate set.
I wish the rest of the world would follow our example, take up 0 gauge and learn to play nice! It would mean lower unit costs, the long overdue return of public demand for decent railway systems and that would leave a safer world for my grand children to play in. One can hope.
Modeling the Baltimore waterfront in HO scale
Oddly enough, I am not asking for a Lionel this Christmas. Here is my gift if all goes well.

Lionel collector, stuck in an N scaler's modelling space.
In my case, my Christmas wish (regarding trains) is to get started on the benchwork of a more permanent layout. At this rate, I'm falling behind the Chief!!!
Oh,
I have tried alot of stuff since I got my Log Dump car just a month ago. I have dumped pencils, my car and house keys (yes I have a car), even my cell phone.
I have dumped a load of my keys, pencils, and the logs combined with no trouble. I even have dumped a couple of Fruit roll ups for my little cousin when he came to visit a last weekend.
Actually, I decided I want a 4 pack set of Williams Santa Fe Luxury Liners for my 2343's to pull after I finish the payments and have them restored, hopefully before Christmas.
But, as an afetr Christmas Present I'm am going to choose something out of what I listed above. I might be able to wrap up a freight car or two from me to me that I can open on Christmas. The new Lionel DMIR tank car is nice and so is the Northern Pacific Boaxcar.
My goodness, if I don't get a hold of myself I might not have gas money. Time to pull out the money jars, LOL.
Cheese
For Christmas, I would like Peace and Goodwill toward all men.....
Naw, that's not gonna happen! I guess I better start browsing the Lionel catalog....

My lovely bride just purchased for me, the K-Line F3 ABA set mentioned above. Now, my birthday is in January, so I think I may need to add a set of Lackawanna coaches.
Lucky You,
I wish my girlfriend would buy me something nice like, oh say, a Williams GG1 so I could still buy the other stuff and have a GG1.
But, lets get real here, I am on a budget, as in $10 per person, so I can buy me something nice because last year I spent over $300 on Christmas gifts for everyone but myself, soI think its time for me to get a little something.
Maybe I can find a good deal on the Williams Streamliners and maybe, just maybe, I can get the GG1 and the other stuff. Time to haul out the paper and pencil, cause I can't do it in my head.
Sctrach that first line of my last post, insert this here. I wish my Girlfriend would plop down the cash for, oh say, a Lionel ZW (the new one, not the old one) and maybe an extra power house for one of my CW80's.
You know, if MRC still makes the Dual 0-27 Transformer with the Walk around controllers I might think about that one instead.
