Light Weight Layout
Posted by RFJ on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 9:15 PM
In the January 2006 Issue of Classic Toy Trains, there is an article on building a 5x9 foot light weight layout. The first step is to build the 5x9 frame. The next step is to cut 4x8 sheets of 2" insulation foam to fit in the frame.

I did not understand what lengths and widths should be cut from the foam and how they most efficiently fit into the frame. A second question is what is the recommended options for attaching track to the foam.

Thanks,

I attached my track to the foam with ordinary dry wall screws. The foam holds the screws incredibly well.
