I like the Business Car. If I had the money, and a place to run it, I would bid on it. It could fit in my backyard though.

If a guy had the money, location, construction and design knowledge - this would make a nice little deli or coffee shop !!

I, too, absolutely love that business car!  Wouldn't it be great to travel all over the country in that?  The interiors of the sleeping cars, however, are too obviously phony and modern for my taste.  The bedrooms look like they're hotel rooms, not at all like railroad sleeping compartments are supposed to be.

Being in North Carolina, I wonder if the Chief knows about these.

There are also some dealers on the web who specialize in full-size trains.  There is www.ozarkmountainrailcar.com , which has lots of really great stuff for sale, even a fully operational Southern Pacific 2-6-0 for only $800,000.  There is also www.railmerchants.net , which is a very simmilar site with very nice equipment for sale, including an original Zephyr.

I'd love to have one of those sleeper cars.  I could buy one of those and fix it up, and get some property cheaper than a house...much sportier too.

Dave;
Why don't you try to locate that old Brill car that FJ&G had? Would make
an excellent get-away place! Whatever happened to it anyway? I know who
owned it before FJ&G.

My neighbor has a couple of business cars and a caboose, all fixed up very nicely.  I agree, they are great to ride around on.  I wish my wife would go for me having one in the yard to build a layout in.
