I  have made a simple swing up bridge from thinner plywood, 2x4s and 1/4" flathead bolts. Nothing pretty at all. Its in my old bedroom where the old train layout never got up and going. It will be transferred to my new bedroom layout. It currently has K-line 027 height 72" circle track on it, but I'm wondering if I could use Lionel Fastrak with its staggered rails but remove all the pins and use jumper wires between the track sections. One of my concerns is with older engines running over the gaps between all 3 rails on normal 027 track  and the E-unit tripping the engine into neutrall or even worse,,, reverse.

I have a similar lift bridge on my layout. I will try to take some close up photos and post. It's nothing fancy, but it is only about 30 inches or the width of a door.
