K-line Plymouth switcher Problems
Posted by chadw on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 3:32 PM
My k-line plymouth switcher runs fine but one of the tiny marker lights has burnt out and since k-line is gone I can't send it to them for repairs.  The lens has also fallen off so I need to find a source for one.

I have a good number of those Plymouth switchers, but haven't had any problems with them--yet--including burned-out lights.

I honestly don't have a clue about how one would go about changing them or obtaining repair parts--at least not until there's some word from Lionel about whether they plan to vcontinue the Plymouths, or until someone comes forward with information about replacement parts.

Seems to me those lights must be LEDs, and those should last a good long time--years, in fact.  Perhaps I'm wrong about that, but someone here will speak up with good info, I'm sure.

Try using a multimeter to see what voltage is supplied to the light and see if an electronics store like Radio Shack has the part. The little light bulbs are very low voltage controlled by a circuit board, maybe the wire fell out or came loose try that before buying any parts, even though the parts are cheap.

I got the mechanism out but there was no access to the lights.  Which srews should I remove to get to the lights?
