I realize that this is a toy train forum, however many of you are also railfans so I thought this might be appropriate to post. The Harrisburg Chapter of the NRHS is sponsoring an excursion from Harrisburg to Renova, PA. One of the big attractions for railfans is the set of PRR E-8s that will be pulling the train. Check out this link for all the info.

Oh Boy !! You're going on that train ? !! Good for you, I was wondering where the engines from The old Conrail 1 business train went . About 5 years ago a train like that came to Erie, Pa. to bed down for the night then went on to Conneaut, Oh. to the Bessemer yard & then back south to Pa. I had to help with that train in our yard, lock it in & flag it & helped the one guy fix a number board on it, but I think they were the smaller F units. Some of the pass. cars were insured for over 1 million dollars each. I did get a hat from it !! Amtrack supplied the crew, for insurance reasons.
Have a nice trip !! [:D][:D] We will want pics. too !! [:D]
Thanks,

For anyone interested here is a link to lots of pictures from previous trips. They used to do one or two a year but NS has not been as cooperative lately so this is the first on since 2004.

Go down the page to past excursions & click on any of the links. The first link is a great pic of the E-8s.

That would be awesome to ride! On one trip down to St. Louis for a Weekend to Remember seminar we stayed at the Hyatt there. There was a dinner train there with E8's. I just stood there as the pulled in (right place, right time) and watched. I got to speak one of the engineers when they got out. On our next trip down there we are going to ride it. Well, that is if I can find the web site! Rail Cruise America was the operator I believe.
