since the boss is on line now I was wondering What the stars mean next to a members name. I know it has to do with how many posts you have done but is there a time limit or just a specific number of post you need to do to earn your stars. If it is a specific amount of posts what are the levels? Thank you. (I really hate lookin like the new guy)

Beats me - I think it has to do with the number of posts you've made ...

It's by number of posts; but I couldn't find a key that says how many posts per star, although it seems like I've seen one somewhere.

I just found this on the Trains Magazine forum:

1 purple star = 50 posts
2 blue stars = 100 posts
3 green stars = 500 posts
4 gold stars = 1000 posts
5 red stars = 2000 posts

This is totally unrelated to the number of posts you read and dont comment on, which gets me to wondering what the average ratio of read to replied to messages might be?

Example of views [reads] to the number of replies. Look at the Coffee Pot, quite a few more views with the large number of replies.

Dennis,
Yes, they made us wait until we got 5 stars, before we received our free subscribtions to CTT, and we did not get a free coffee pot or a years supply of coffee. We got free beer for life for all the OTTS members.

It was worth the wait.[;)] Hope you like your coffee.[:)]

Buckeye - you had to wait for 5 stars for the free subscription and beer for life? Did you do something to upset Bob?

BUCKEYE remember your always right.
If you were wrong or confused about something then you'd live down South or maybe North Carolina?
