posting my layout 2

okay I have my layout in a jpg file now can you tell me how to post a picture?

Tom has instructions somewhere on the board, but it's really easy. First, you must store your picture(s) somewhere on the internet. There are a lot of websites where you can store pictures on the web, mostly from companies who want you to buy prints from them etc. My internet provider gives me a webspace, so I use that.

Once you have your picture on the internet, go to the website where it is stored and view it. Right click on it and choose properties. In the properties, you will find the URL for the picture. This is the address of the picture on the internet. Highlight and copy it. It will look something like http:\somewebsitedotcom\mypic.jpg.

Now, don't use the Quick Reply box when posting pics. Instead, use the Reply to Topic form. At the top, in the menu bar, you will find a button for inserting images. Click on it and it will put a some code in the thread like this

{img}{/img}

Except with ['s instead of {'s.

Now, click in between the two codes and hit paste or control V so it looks like this:

{img}http:\somewebsitedotcom\mypic.jpg{/img}

Except, again, instead of { or }, you will see [ or ] symbols.

Now, to see if it worked, hit the Preview button. If it worked, you should see your post with the picture in it.

Okey-doke. Basically, what you've done is linked to the thumbnail (i.e. the preview image). What you need to do is the same proceedure, but with the large actual image.

I think that's right, go to the site where you stored your pic and click on it. When it shows the BIG picture, then get that URL etc.

It looks like a nice layout, since you can turn your trains around etc. Can't really see any details though.

Here is a better picture of my layout design. some of the track is cut off on the left side of the picture. not sure how to fix it but your not missing much anyway. The big square in the middle of the layout is a closet I plan on running the trains through. Also the track in blue is 2% grade track which in the long straight section will level out at 7" above the table. I plan on putting more mountains on the layout but I didn't get them in place yet. the layout size is 29x13' thanks for all your help[:)]
