Dcs Tiu board
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 15, 2006 11:55 AM
[:)]...[?]... Planning to install New dcs system. Trying to figure out a spot where to install the TIU board under my table. I would like to know what are the dementions of the tiu so that it would be in a proper location for my wiring . Does it matter how the board is mounted? If there is any other tips that I should know I would appreciate it. Felix

Felix,

I think you should install the TIU on top of your table. If you put it under the table, you will have a poor signal between the remote and the TIU.

My unit is 8" x 10". I would allow extra room on the 8" dimension for the wires.

My unit is mounted inside a cabinet lower than the table.

As Spanky said allow room for getting your hands around the sides for wiring, and also the ends; one has a port to connect to a computer for upgrades and the other to connect to an AIU.

I would also suggest that you keep the unit horizontal, "right side" up. There are cooling vents along the top and sides.

I went to trainworld this past saturday to see if they had any Dcs systems but they too are out of stock. Looks like it will be some time before they will get a supply in. If this unit measures 8" x 10" it's the same size as the CTT magazine that we get. I picked up a Z-4000 saturday and I am starting to put in some permanent wire going to my two loops that I have. Thanks guy's for the info that I asked for. Felix
