Jonathan:

Could you provide a little more information? What kind of trains? What kind of track? What kind of transformer? How did you wire everything?

1. Ensure transformer is plugged in. This also helps with other electronics gear. You'd be surprised how many service calls electricians take for this kind of thing

2. Ensure wheels are on the rails with flanges on the inside of the rails, unlike some pictures I saw in MTH catalogs that depicted trains that were derailed.

3. If no electricity is getting to the tracks, check to see if your refrigerator and lights are working. Could be you forgot to pay the electric bill. Time to get out the good old Brio set and use some muscle power! As an alternate means of electricity, you could install a solar panel on the roof, a windmill in the back yard, and a water wheel if you are fortunate enough to have a stream. Then you can get your electricity for free or sell it back to the electric company.
