Hello hobo79 & [#welcome] to the forum. As for your query I would guess you should pay -10% of the MSRP if the engine is still like new. That would be reasonable. Take care.

I know what "MSRP" means.
As my kid would say, DUH!

I don't know what K Line's MSRP for this unit was.

I don't recall the original retail price--there were two version of the A5, I believe, one with TMCC and one without--but my feeling is that once you discover the original MSRP, you should not offer much more than 50% of that amount for any K-Line item, especially since the firm is out of business and there's no guarantee that you could get it repaired or replaced if something goes amiss in the future.

K line PRR A-5 Steam engine & Tender #K3180-0094W with smoke & whistle I got as a K line member for $125 in 2003. That should give you something to go on.

The A5 conventional control was $139.00 with road number 94 . Road number 913 had TMCC and cost $269.00 . Both were collector's club items so this would have been actual cost and not msrp.

I snagged a MIB convention version on eBay 5 - 6 months ago for about $100. [^]

I think that a good price on this switcher is $100 - $125. My humble opinion is that it's an great switcher for a little bit on money[:D]

The KCC products were fantastic deals that sold for less than similiar non-KCC items. Thus, I've found that KCC locomotives on eBay usually sell for about or slightly less than the original KCC price.
