Williams Golden Memory F3s and remote switches
Posted by okiechoochoo on Thursday, April 13, 2006 2:03 PM
I saw this question on another forum and it had no answer and I was wondering about it also so I thought I would ask it here. Has anyone run Williams Golden Memory F3s through Atlas O or Fastrack remote switches. Were any problems encountered. I was about to buy track and planned on using a set of the Williams F3 but don't want problems. I know the Williams had shorting problems on old Super O but then who uses 50 year old track.

All Lionel all the time.

Don't know about Atlas O or Fastrack switches but here is my tip, don't use Lionel switch 6-23011 or 6-23010 as they are the worst switch you will see in O gauge.
I have a few Williams locomotives, some GP-9's & SD-45's, the Lionel switch I am talking about goes bonkers with the center piece that controls the direction of the switch when ever a Williams locomotive approaches the switch up to three track sections away. People on the forum have told me to check placement of the fiber pins, others have thought that I forgot the pins.

I have several Williams engines. E-7's, GP-9's , u-36's and a GG-1 and have had no problems running them through my Atlas switches. The E-7's do not like my Lionel 072 switches for some reason. They de-rail every time when I try to run them on to the deverging route.
