Newer Lionel Whistle Tenders
Posted by BobbyDing on Friday, March 31, 2006 12:30 AM
Does anybody know the Model#'s (like 6466) for the later tenders (built in the last few years)? I want to buy some parts that are used on them, but I cannot for the model#'s.

Thanks

Usually the tender is listed with the engine. In post-war the tender had a number on it, not sure if Lionel kept up this practice or not as their stuff is made in either Korea or China today. If the tender don't have a separate number go with the engine number. The number is usually on the underside of the tender, in the newer ones it may be inside the shell, so you will have to remove the shell from the frame and usually two screws hold the shell on.

I found my tender at lionel.com. I searched the parts list for tender. They have many listed.
