Keith,

Back in 1969 (circa) we fired these Estes rockets horizontally over the FJ& G right of way. Illegal but way cool! Nice to see Estes are still around.

Remember that experiment on the NYC with a jet-powered quasi-RDC? Someone's gotta to make a model of that

That far and away was the most potentially destructive and harmful thing that a modeller can do with his or her train. I don't mean to offend anyone, that is just my opinion.

Dave- If the engine gave out in Bruce's Corvair; He could use a Estes to give the Corvair a boost to a Mechanic's Shop.[;)][:)][:D][:o)] Take Care.

Keith,

The "boost" already exists once the turbo kicks in above 2500 rpm. I do need more power off the line though. I figure a JATO rocket will do the trick since it's already been tested and there are very few mountain sides in this area. [;)]

P.S. Doug...I'm doing the jet conversion on a RDC right now. All I need is to find a smoke unit powerful enough to replicate a vapour trail.

A friend and I used to do this with b and c series rockets on metal axled 1/4 scale model cars about 25 years ago.We would launch them down a paved road with a slight slope. Those cars would go so fast then the parachute charge in the rocket would fire and send the car every where but the ground. The cars were the ones with plastic bodies and metal axles that rolled real good.Wish we had video's of it.

Kinda reminds you of the early rocket sleds the military experimented with at the beginning of the space program.
