Request features/additions to forum software?
Posted by Birds on Friday, March 24, 2006 10:53 AM
Is there a place we can submit requests for features we'd like to see added to the forums?

Two features I would like to see:

1) the ability to edit posts and not have the edit cause the post to jump up to the top of the thread (or have you listed as the most recent poster).
2) spell checker

I noticed that each time we edit a post it causes the thread to jump back to the top of the forum, and then lists you as the most recent poster - even if someone posted after you.

Are there any settings for the forum software that the system folks can change which would allow us to edit posts and not have them leap back to the top, etc?

I proof read my posts before posting, but mistakes always seem to enter in (I use preview, I read them multiple times, etc.). I would like to go back and correct mistakes I find, but I also don't want to see the thread always leaping to the top just because of these corrections.

Thanks,
Birds

Forget it, the software is going to be changed sometime in the near future anyway. People have been asking for changes for a long time, and none have come. No point asking now.

The add on tool bar from Google will do your spell check.

I just write them in word and copy to the message box.
