K-Line Web Site Not Available
Posted by DCmontana on Monday, March 6, 2006 6:18 PM
I just went to the K-Line web site, it is not available. It says to contact the web host if you have questions. My question is simple, will Lionel ever produce K-Line products under the K-line name? Or, maybe they will just produce some of the product and slap Lionel on it? The problem with corporations is "we just don't get no respect!"[:(!]

What's the difference between a two identical boxcars but just have a different name on the bottom. Im sorry but i say that this post is going to be nothing but trouble. It happened to ma and noone would talk to me anymore.[V] i was depressed. Well, i don't care much what's happening to k-line. I wasnt a fan of them. Jerry calabrese said the prices wouldnt raise but i sure hope he's telling the truth. But remember it could be trubble here and remember what happened to me[:(] Trust me its bad. But hey, it could still make a good conversation. Now im scared to post something unless i have a question.

Though I don't believe the legal transaction has taken place yet, I believe there were provisions in the agreement to preserve the K-Line trademark as a distinct product line. It wouldn't surprise me to see a K-Line by Lionel, like Train 19 by K-Line or RailKing by MTH.

By the way, just for the record many of the parts and items that may on first glance appear toe identical, are not. The shell off a K-Line Classic Series imitation 6464 box car is not the same length as a Lionel 6464 box car and therefore not interchangable.

Same goes for the gears on the standard truck mounted motor diesel truck assembly. The gears appear to be the same, until you try to get them to fit and then you see the subtle difference. Just a clarification that they are not always the same precise exact products.

Now for those who still want to access the K-Line web site (no guarantee how long this will work though), try this link...
