Help finding O Gauge Steel Mill Models
Posted by danrunner on Friday, March 3, 2006 9:04 PM
Help,

I'm trying to create a steel mill layout in O gauge in honor of my grandfather who was an engineer on the Carnegie Steel (US Steel) Line for over 50 years.

Where can I find models of blast furnaces, coke ovens, steel mill backgrounds, etc?

All help appreciated.

Dan,
I am not sure about any major production steel mill models, but I do believe that The Carnegie Museum has a custom job that they built themselves. It looks impressive, but has a huge footprint. I believe they have a website, but I am not sure what it is. Check out layout, fantastic.

Thanks,

Those'll help. I'm still looking for stores, websites or model companies where I can get a lot of these things. Walthers isn't very helpful. Keyword searches produce tons of irrelevant pages with little I want.

Thanks for all the help and keep it coming.

Dan
