EX Lionel Exec becomes CEO of Rokenbok toys
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, January 24, 2006 4:50 PM
James W. Brady former head of marketing at Lionel has been appointed CEO of Rokenbok building and RC toy company. They make a great toy 1/32 scale monorail and the toys are really fun to use though thier videogame like control pads. Maybe with this change you may see more a pu***o get more Rokenbok into hobby shops. The fan base seems to be those younger people the hobby is trying to find.

Here is a link to an article on the Rokenbok fan site. http://www.rcblocks.com/rcb/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=619

I'm glad he landed on his feet. He's got his work cut out for him in my humble opinion. Nice new financing, but a tough market and pricey product.

Pricy compared to O scale????

In Rokenbok one could buy a self powered unit for the price of a starter set box car in the new Lionel catalog. I guess it is all in the eye of the beholder.

Sorry guy's,to start with you can not compare the to item's . Rokenbok is geared toward 7 and up,as well as some O starter set's. The play value is like that of Lego's and the two toy's work together. I have seen them in photo's . As far as price if you shop it's with in reason, I plan on a starter set for my son when he is older . He is into Lego's now. Rokenbok has a web site with several link's you should check it out .[2c][2c] Have a good day Mike

I've seen the Rokenbok stuff at a couple shops where they have a demo layout set-up and my stepson can be entertained for hours with it - looks like a couple sets are in his near future. To paraphrase Mr. Cowen - anything to keep him from getting bored and wandering off to set the drapes on fire...
