Does anyone know how much wattage a K-line uncouple track uses. I want to have one button to operate about 7 super snap tracks and another button to operate 7 -027 tracks. Both buttons would be hooked to the same transformer but would not be pressed at the same time. Would this be a problem using a 40watt k-line set transformer?

Figured at 5-7 ohms each, about 20-25 watts for each section.

If you use separate buttons for each uncoupling track, you have no problems. Why do you want to energize more than one magnet at a time? If you need to buy extra buttons, any 2+ amp push button will work - a lot cheaper than buying a bigger transformer.

I wire my uncoupling tracks to the same control as a nearby switch. A typical arrangement would be a siding with an uncoupling section on the siding close to the switch. So I wire the uncoupling section to the switch terminal that throws the switch to the siding. (I use only the electromagnet type of uncoupling section, returned to an accessory supply.)

Lionelsoni,

Good idea! I am trying to reduce the clutter (too many switches) on my control panel. Using the remote switch would eliminate extra switches.

Thank you!
