Going around a post in the basement

This steel pole (the grey pole) supports my house. I built a shelf out of 3/4 plywood. Covered it with carpet -

Underneath it is supported by 3 angle brackets attached to the pole by a hose clamp.

Are you going to disguise the pole, like with a mountain or something? I read about a club once that had a support column like that to work around and they made it look like a ( very ) tall building.

I think I'm going to put a few large pine trees around the pole. Maybe a few large rocks too. I'll keep yuz giz posted.

Put a cemetery next to the pole, paint a door on the pole and add a sign "Stairway to Heaven".

At Christmas, I wrapped a pole with red and white ribbons (like a candy cane) and added a sign "North Pole"

Paul, try a mirror. You may be intrigued by what you can hide if angled to reflect something back - very nice work, by the way!!
