IDENTIFY? LOCO AND MAKER.

my sister has an old H.O. train not sure what maker but she wanted me to post this.

hooterville cannonball c&fw railroad and cars that make that set no box though. no names on cars havent seen them yet. shes digging in the attic for them.

new at the H.O. thing so help would be great. value if any? maker? keeper? 60's maybe? etc....

Maybe if you posted your question on the HO boards, it might get a better/quicker response. Hooterville was the name of the town in the 60's TV show "Petticoat Junction"

Tyco made one of these sets in the '60s. You can see a small pic of the set box here:

"Tyco" should be on the underside of the loco or cars somewhere. Sorry, can't help with the value.

These sets are very collectable today and highly sought after. Excellent boxed examples of this set usually sell on ebay for around $250-$300, so without the box your sister's set wouldn't be worth quite that much. What makes these sets so special is that, besides being hard to find, they are a crossover colectable. They appeal not only to train collectors, but also collectors of television and pop culture memorabilia.

It's also worth noting that on the original TV show the train consisted of just the locomotive, tender and combine car. There never were any other passenger cars like in the set.

Nice H.O. set from the photos on the website provided, but on the T.V. show I don't remember seeing more than one passenger car with the train or combination passenger baggage car.

My sister that has the train said there is at least two if not three passenger cars......so this will be interesting to see what she has once she finds them in her attic. I have seen the engine and its in pretty good shape , dusty though.
