Help! I broke the handrail on 456 loader
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, January 2, 2006 9:48 AM
Managed to catch the handrail on pilot truck of a prewar Flyer loco I had stored near the loader. No greater stupidity than my own!!!!! Seems to be a wire wound string (nylon????). Anyone know where to get an exact duplicate/replacement?????????

The cable like nylon string is probably something Lionel made for their Airex brand of fishing line. You might try different sports departments to see if anyone handles fishing line of this type but I would suppose the modern day equivalent is smooth.

Olsen's can help you. Might have new old stock for this.

Olsen’s Toy Train Parts
1386 Bonneview Avenue
Lakewood, Ohio 44107

Ph: 216.226.0444
Fax: 216.226.0155

The link to this accessory on their web site is not working correctly, but here it is anyway.

P/N 456-59 is the handrail cord and washer. It shows in stock at $2.65 per pair.
