I am in the process of restoring a prewar lionel bascule bridge. the wiring had been removed. I need a diagram of how the bridge is wired and which terminals the wiring goes to.

Hi,

"Greenberg's Guide to Lionel Prewar Parts & Instruction Sheets" should have the information you are looking for. I do not believe the book is still in print, but you should be able to find a copy available from a local toy train store. Try searching the internet, you may be able to tag into a copy.

Regards,

Tim Pignatari

Lionel will send you a xerox copy of the instructions if you call them in Detroit. The number is 586 949 4100. They also have many of the service booklets and diagrams as files on their website if you have Interent access: www.lionel.com.CustomerService/Findex.cfm

Related to this, has anyone successfully installed two Bascule Bridges in a "jacknife" juxtaposition to each other -- so the lifted end of each bridge rests on a common pier, and both raise and lower in sync with each other? The pair of bridges would each rest on opposite shores, span a river as a pair, and be supported in the middle by a pier rising from the "river bottom."

Suggestions for a successfuol installation on my layout welcome!

Mike
