Making a Standard Gauge Tunnel
Posted by elvisp on Friday, December 9, 2005 9:11 AM
I want to make a standard gauge tunnel for my Christmas layout. I was going to use the typical plaster cloth and cardboard design. However, I am wondering if it is easy to make a 30's-40's looking tunnel bending tin/metal over a form. Any thoughts or suggestions?

If you want a tin one, why not just pick one up on eBay? I snagged a #119 for about $20 last year. I can't imagine making one any cheaper.

Of course, if you want a BIG one, you may get away cheaper making it. I just watched one of the the big, curved ones go for about $250. . . That would have been nice under the tree!
