I am new to this forum and collection. I do not know how to start. Collecting toy/scale model trains has been my dream for a long time. Please help me/guide me. I am in India and things are becoming simple to collect such toy trains or models.

Greetings and welcome to this forum. You touch on a pretty large topic. It might help to know what era of trains you wi***o collect. Also, is there a particular style or manufacturer you are interested in? Since you are on the internet you
can find out quite a bit by searching for specific topics; toy train collecting being one of them. There are books by Greenberg, I think they are called guides, that list approximate values of equipment depending on condition, etc. They would be good to have if you are buying stuff from e-bay, although if you watch several of the auctions through you'd get a feel for what equipment is selling for..... but that would still be only a guide.

There are many very qualified folks on this board who can and will assist.
