Your train layouts action on your Computer

I am going to mount (rubber band) my Canon 520 digital still camera on a gondola and set it to Movie mode.

Then push it around the layout and record some video and sound on the little SD card. Stick the card in the card reader and watch and record it on the ole computer.

May obsolete my X-10 camera car for recording but it will not be "live" like my X-10.

Anyone done this yet? I have to wait until after Thanksgiving when my layout goes down on the den floor.

I've seen a camera in a h0 car on a layout at the show in Utrecht. The car gave it's signals through the track, but the pictures where lousy black&white. With the very small color camera's and the small in size cards for storement I guess the quality only will get better..
The only problem I have with movie's made with my 1,3mp digi camera is that the file sizes are huge! 10 seconds of movie is more then 2mb!! So sharing the films might get akward.
Daan. I'm Dutch, but only by country...
